The stuary of pontevedra has a rich history in traditions and legends, plenty of pirates arrived here to plunder the small surronding villages, intimidating locals. One of the most famous pirates who sailed through this stuary, was Francis Drake, a bloodthirsty man protected by Queen Elizabeth during the 16th century. We sail off from Portonovo in a private boat, then we will enter into the Pontevedra estuary where you will be able to learn how mussels are bred in the rafts, a bit of the history of Tambo Island, and with a little bit of luck we will also be able to see dolphins.
We will sail just off one of the most picturesque villages of Pontevedra, a hiiden gem called Combarro, a fishing village, with a historical old town replete with traditional galician structures such us "hórreos" (granaries), transepts or small houses built in granite.
Finally, we will visit an Albariño winery in the area - there, we will explain the process of making this precious wine. This is a perfect route for your weekend getaways.
